MrRak: turnkey RAS farms

About MrRak: turnkey RAS farms for crayfish and prawns

Roman Bezverkhyi is an independent aquaculture technologist working with recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for Australian redclaw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus, and Macrobrachium rosenbergii prawns. In 9 years: 285 working farms, 320 clients trained and a team of 21 — design, installation, hatchery work, training and on-site supervision in Ukraine and, on request, in European countries.

Our story and track record

From hatchery to a profitable RAS farm — designed, built and supervised

Roman Bezverkhyi is an aquaculture technologist and an independent expert with no ties to any equipment manufacturer. Over more than 9 years of practice he has developed his own methods of hatchery work, combined culture and grow-out for Australian redclaw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus, and Macrobrachium rosenbergii prawns. Independence matters to a buyer: the equipment list follows the biology of the species and the building you already have, not a supplier catalogue.

The core of the work is technology and turnkey aquafarms: hatchery design, building high-performance broodstock and the combined culture method Roman developed himself. Combined culture means crayfish and prawns share one recirculating system while different age groups are kept on separate tiers, so the same floor area yields more market-size stock and the farm does not stand idle between cycles. For an investor the arithmetic is plain: fewer square metres per kilogram of harvest and a lower production cost.

Over the years Roman has delivered dozens of projects of every scale — from compact home hatchery modules to industrial complexes — helping clients start production from zero and reach stable output. More than 65 % of the industrial RAS systems and crayfish and prawn farms in Ukraine were designed, commissioned or technologically supervised by independent technologist Roman Bezverkhyi. His solutions are used where water quality control, stocking density (100 juveniles per cubic metre), predictable production cost and efficient use of floor space decide whether the farm earns, with payback from 14 months.

Training is a separate line of work: 320 clients have already been through it. The course is two days of hands-on practice on a working farm — safety, RAS basics, feeding, water chemistry, feed base and harvesting — plus an online part on system design and equipment selection. Clients come from Ukraine, European countries and further afield, and the technologist travels to the site, in Ukraine and in European countries alike. Every project is supported by consultations from the first idea to the first stable harvest.

Trust here rests on hands-on experience, proprietary technology and independence from equipment vendors. Completed projects, clients who come back for a second farm and their feedback show that these technologies work on live stock rather than in a slide deck. The team is 21 people — technologists, the installation unit, the training unit and sales — so a client is left alone neither during construction nor after commissioning.

The goal Roman Bezverkhyi works towards is to advance modern aquaculture, put his own technologies to work and help entrepreneurs build high-tech, efficient and profitable aquafarms. One distinct direction is eco-tourism farms, where production is combined with hospitality: the business earns from the harvest and from visitors who come to see a working farm and taste what it grows.

More than 9 years of practice. Proprietary hatchery and combined-culture technology. 285 working farms and 320 clients trained. Training and technology supervision from the first idea to a stable harvest. Turnkey RAS solutions.

Why clients choose us

Why buyers choose MrRak over an equipment supplier

9 years of RAS practice

9 years in aquaculture and 285 working farms, from a home hatchery module to an industrial complex. We design, install and commission the system ourselves, and the technologist travels to the site in Ukraine and, on request, in European countries.

320 clients trained by us

Our own training programme on a working farm: two days of practice — safety, RAS basics, feeding, water chemistry, feed base and harvesting — plus an online part on system design and equipment selection. Access to the support chat stays with you afterwards.

Guaranteed buyback in Ukraine

In Ukraine we buy the harvest back ourselves at fixed prices, from 10 kg per batch. Outside Ukraine this buyback is not offered, and we say so before the project starts rather than after, so an export plan rests on your own sales channels.

Installation, logistics, site visits

We install and deliver equipment to any region of Ukraine through our own partner network. For measurements, design and commissioning the technologist travels to the site — in Ukraine and in European countries.
