Feed for crayfish and prawns

Feed for crayfish is the basis of the diet on a farm: it decides how many animals reach market weight. MrRak balanced feed is our own production. It is formulated for Australian redclaw crayfish and Macrobrachium rosenbergii shrimp rather than for fish: it is not a general-purpose mix but a diet for these two species.

What the feed does. The balanced composition delivers up to 20 % more biomass growth. Crayfish and shrimp get enough protein and minerals through the moult. That translates directly into how many animals reach market weight, and therefore into revenue from the same tank.

Why it matters. In our farm calculations we assume 70–80 % survival. Australian crayfish reach market weight in about 6 months and Rosenberg shrimp in about 4 months, and the animals are fed every day throughout. That is why the diet matters from the first day to the last.

Price and packing. Feed for Australian crayfish costs €8 per 1 kg. It is packed in 5 kg units and in 10–25 kg sacks. Choose the packing to fit your volume: when you use little feed, 5 kg is handier, and for larger stock there is the sack.

Which animals it is for. This is feed for Australian crayfish and for Rosenberg shrimp — one feed for both species, which we formulated specifically for them.

For combined culture. Combined culture means crayfish and shrimp living together in one system. For such projects it is one feed for both species.

How to set the feeding rate. We help you set the feeding rate and schedule for your volume and the age of your stock. Feeding and checking the animals is a daily job; together with grading, which is needed once a month, it takes up to 2 hours a day.

Delivery. We ship the feed by Nova Poshta. Delivery is paid by the buyer.

In addition to the main feed. As a supplement to the main diet we also have Premium maggots — a live or frozen protein feed for crayfish and shrimp. It has a page of its own.
