About the service
The Test aquarium is aquaculture to try out and to enjoy: an aquarium with crayfish or shrimp in your home, living creatures growing before your eyes. It is for those who want to try without risk and find out whether this is for them before thinking about a farm.
What is in the kit. An aquarium with a lid, LED lighting, built-in filtration and aeration, and heating. You choose the substrate: white or black pebbles. And the animals: Macrobrachium rosenbergii shrimp, Australian blue crayfish or catfish; larger animals are possible too.
Water with bacteria. We supply water from our tanks with live bacteria, ready for crayfish and other animals to live and grow in. So the aquarium starts right away, without weeks of maturing.
Support. You are not left alone: we advise you at start-up and support you in the chat afterwards. The aquarium has a QR code with care and feeding instructions.
What next. The Test aquarium is not meant to earn money. If you want more, the next step is the Start kit: a first grow cycle in a tank in your garage or basement. The incubation module and the First farm are the ones that earn, and we calculate your premises for free.

Why are the crayfish blue?
This is the Australian redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus): its shell is naturally blue-green, and males have a red patch on the claw. It is not dye and it is not a disease — that is simply the species.
How long do the crayfish take to grow?
The Australian redclaw reaches market weight in about 6 months.
How long do the giant river prawns take to grow?
About 4 months to market size.
What can I keep in the Test aquarium?
